DB Pro v1.2.0: Windows, Linux, MongoDB & Saved Queries

JayJay

This is a big one.

Since we launched DB Pro, the most common question we've heard is: "When is this coming to Windows?" (Linux users, you've been asking too.) Today, we're thrilled to say: it's here.

DB Pro v1.2.0 brings full Windows and Linux support, MongoDB as a new database type, saved queries with version history, and a bunch of quality-of-life improvements.

Let's dig in.

Windows & Linux Support

DB Pro is now available on all major desktop platforms:

  • Windows (x64 and ARM64) with a native installer
  • Linux (x64 and ARM64) with AppImage and .deb packages

This has been almost a month in the making. We wanted to make sure the experience felt native on each platform, not just a port. Same features, same performance, same attention to detail.

If you've been waiting to try DB Pro, now's your chance.

MongoDB Support

We've added MongoDB to the list of supported databases. You can now:

  • Browse collections with the familiar DB Pro interface
  • View, insert, update, and delete documents with full CRUD support
  • Edit JSON documents directly in the inspector panel

Whether you're running MongoDB locally or connecting to Atlas, DB Pro handles it.

Saved Queries with Version History

Your queries are now automatically saved and versioned. Every time you modify a saved query, DB Pro keeps track of the previous version.

Made a mistake? Need to see what you had before? Just open the version history and restore any previous version with a click.

No more losing that perfect query you wrote last week.

SQL Editor Comments

A small but frequently requested feature: the SQL editor now properly supports comments.

Use -- for line comments and they'll be syntax highlighted correctly. It's the little things.

PlanetScale Postgres Support

PlanetScale recently launched their Postgres offering, and we've added native support for it. Connect with your PlanetScale credentials and all DB Pro features work out of the box.

Improved Cell Display

We've overhauled how cells display large content. Long text and JSON values no longer get awkwardly truncated. You can scroll through large content smoothly and copy the full value easily.

Clear Connection Logs

Each connection now maintains its own activity log, and you can clear it whenever you want. Useful when debugging and you want to focus on recent activity without scrolling through hours of old queries.

Schema Diagram Loading

The schema diagram now shows a proper loading indicator while it builds. No more staring at a blank screen wondering if something went wrong.

Get the Update

DB Pro v1.2.0 is available now. If you have auto-updates enabled, you'll get it automatically. Otherwise, head to the download page and grab the latest version for your platform.
